The sooner, the better.

Quality projects require planning long before construction begins. Kitchens and bathrooms often involve cabinets, windows, specialty fixtures, and other materials with lead times that can stretch for weeks—or even months.

Whenever possible, I'd recommend reaching out five to six months before you'd like construction to begin. That gives us time to plan, finalize selections, order materials, and build a realistic schedule.

Once the scope of work is clearly defined, the estimate starts being assembled.

For smaller projects, that may simply involve a site visit and a few conversations. For larger renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, or additions, we'll invite the appropriate trade partners to walk the project so they can prepare accurate quotations. Those quotations are then folded into a comprehensive estimate that reflects the complete scope of work.

A change order is simply a written agreement documenting a change to the original scope of work and any associated changes to the project cost or project schedule.

Sometimes that's the result of uncovering hidden conditions after construction begins. Other times it's because a homeowner decides to add or change something along the way.

Before moving forward, we'll discuss the change, explain any impact on cost or schedule, answer your questions, and provide a written change order for your approval. That way, everyone understands exactly what's changing before any additional work begins.
